Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 9, 2026

We’re excited that you’re using Cookli! For us, data privacy isn’t just a promise; it’s built into our technology. We strive to collect as little data as possible. Below, we explain in simple language what happens with your data.

1. Responsible Party

The party responsible for data processing is:

Fabian Rosenthal Methfesselstraße 96, 20255 Hamburg, Germany Email: code@xennis.org

2. What Data We Collect and Why

To ensure Cookli runs securely and quickly, we use infrastructure from Vercel (for the website) and Google Cloud (for data processing).

  • Operations: When you open the app, technically necessary connection data (e.g., IP address) is processed. Our servers are preferably located in Europe.
  • Your Account: Login is secure and passwordless via email link (Magic Link) or Google Login using Firebase Authentication. Therefore, we do not store any passwords.
  • Your Content: We securely store your recipes and images in the Google Cloud (Firestore & Storage) so they remain permanently available to you.

3. Technical Services & Third Parties

We use selected services to improve our app and detect errors. We prioritize privacy-friendly solutions:

  • Umami (Analytics): We use Umami (Umami Software, Inc.) to measure reach. This service uses no cookies, and we use the provider's EU cloud. No personally identifiable profiles are created.
  • Sentry (Error Analysis): To quickly fix crashes and code errors, we use Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.). This serves the security and stability of the app (legitimate interest under GDPR). We use the EU instance.

4. Where Is Data Stored?

We prefer servers located in the European Union (EU). If data is transferred to third countries (e.g., the USA) in exceptional cases, we ensure that appropriate protection levels are maintained.

5. Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Information about your stored data.
  • Correction of incorrect data.
  • Deletion of your data.
  • Objection to processing.

If you have questions or wish to exercise your rights, simply send an email to the address mentioned above.
